Too Dillo for School

Lovelies

My beautiful, magical friend, Emma, recently developed her photos from Dillo day, which was during late May. And are they aaaaamazing. Ugh, I've always loved the quality of photos taken by a disposable, and Miss E is a fab fab fab photographer, so obviously the photos turned out great--I'm very excited to share them with you. Oh, how they elicit delightful and hazy memories of college debauchery. (I am nursing a glass of wine in a few of them--delish). Oh, and did I mention that E will (hopefully) be taking over as photographer for this blog! I'm so excited, thrilled, and honored to be able to add her to the team-she's a fantastic person, lovely to be around. So look forward to better quality posts in the future.

So, before I share these photos, let me give you all an overview of what Dillo day is so you guys have a better understanding of the context these photos were taken in. Here's the official description of Dillo day, aka "what we tell our parents", and here's what actually happens:

7am. Wake up. eat, eat, eat, carbs.
8am. Commence pre-game.
9am. pregame.
10am. pregame
11am. pregame
12am. pregame
1pm. perhaps, maybe, if still conscious, move to the field to watch the first act.
2pm. get bumped around in a crowd of sweaty, frat guys that smell of alcohol
3pm. throw up? maybe. or pre game more. or leave because you're done and your body is crashing
4pm. nap
5pm. nap
6pm. maybe eat some dinner? who knows. pre game some more
7pm. pregame?
8pm. stumble to the final act of the night
9pm. sort-of-dance-but-not-really to the final act
10pm. sit bc you're exhausted. and extremely hung over. ow body hurts
11pm. either go home and pass out for 2 days, or go party some more

Now that you've gotten the idea, I now present the lovely photos, in chronological order.

I remember that meal the morning after was like heaven in my mouth. If any of you guys ever get a chance to visit Evanston, IL Clarke's is where it's at. Bless. Oh, and check out E's blog--she's darling, and hilarious.

Summertime Sadness, and New Beginnings

Lovelies,

I have returned from my unannounced hiatus with imagenew contentimage! Here is my very first OOTD. I'm so excited to finally be starting ootd's because it's what I started this blog for in the first place. So, without further ado, I present the look I have spontaneously titled: Stripes and White (as you can see, I'm not very innovative.) (I was feeling supah mod. #modlife4eva

Expect more posts like these soooon. I'm shooting for one a week.image

Sorry for the terrible photos. My dear, sweet mother took the photos.
Bless her heart.  I will hopefully be bringing a more experienced photographer on the team.

I still have much I want to talk about but I don't want to overwhelm this post. Instead, lets end on a fierce~ note. Here's me with some killer liner. Damn. I look good. image

Summer Heat and Red Lipstick

Hi lovelies,

So it's been pretty hot here in dear old Evanston, and my friends and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. Luckily for us, our school has, not one, but two (!!) beaches! It's been beautiful here, and warm--but also hot, stifling, and humid. Oh well, guess the Midwest gods can't be good all the time.

With the warm weather has come a weird need to put red or red/orange lipstick on every day. If you can tell, I'm sporting a nice coat of coral-y lipstick with my lime green Audrey dress and my glittery jellies. I call this dress my Audrey dress bc the neckline reminds me of Audrey circa Roman Holiday.

Oh, and isn't Lake Michigan gorgeous behind me? Yes, it is.

Burning Bridges and Paris

Lovelies,

School has been KILLING ME lately. And here's a funny story that happened: I write for my university's fashion magazine, and I have been slacking off MAJOR SLACK since December. I haven't been going to meetings, I haven't been doing my shit, and I haven't been present at all basically. So, I sign up for the Asian American Journalists Association online, and I find out that there is an AAJA chapter at Northwestern! Excited to learn more about it, I email the head faculty member of the chapter. She emails me back and tells me that my EDITOR FOR THE FASHION MAGAZINE IS THE HEAD STUDENT OF AAJA. Now, I'm not sure where to go from here. Ladies, a friend once told me not to burn bridges. Oh, how I regret slacking off. I'm sure I'm making a bigger deal out of it since I have major social anxiety but still...

Any who. Did anyone track PFW and see the awesome that was Chanel and Miu Miu? I don't even know but this shoe, was literally everything. I don't even know what it is and what Ms. Prada was even going for but it's beautiful and I'm not sure if I would wear it but how innovative is that?
Valentino was fantastic, as per usual. Here's what I liked:

Ugh. Love me some good florals.

Irregular Choices

Lovelies, I've fallen in love...

with...
these

shoes!!!

ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SOME DOLLARS FOR THESE BEAUTIES. Please. I would kill for these shoes.

English 385 and etc.

Lovelies,

We're reading this book in english and it's such a bore to read. Apparently it's based off of Northwestern University and Evanston (which is called Churchton in the novel...original) and most of the time, instead of actually comprehending what's going on in the novel I end up trying to find the places that the novel is trying to describe.

They mention Lake Michigan a lot so, it's really not that hard.

Funny story, no one (except for one person who had already read the novel before in some other class, so he doesn't count) in my class actually finished the novel so my prof. got really mad angry at us and dismissed us like 10 minutes early.

We also spent like 20 minutes of class casting the film adaptation to the 'movie'. My cast consisted of Meryl Streep, Kiera Knightly, and Rob Pattenson.

Anyways, he said we're going to have a quiz (?? potentially???) over the novel tomorrow so I guess I'm off to actually read the thing. Ta!

Effnic and College

Hi loveliess!

Hanging in my best friend's bed with her scarf tied around my head trying to fend off the cold, ucky, flu germs that I think I'm starting to contract.

We're being sick together. Well, she has the cramps and I have the sniffles and I used up two of her kleenex boxes. My eyebrows are sparse.

We're browsing the GAP and yes, that red tweed skirt. Speaking of the GAP, I'm waiting to hear back from them for my job application.

Anyways, back to sneezing and blowing my nose.
