Summertime Sadness, and New Beginnings

I have returned from my unannounced hiatus with new content! Here is my very first OOTD. I'm so excited to finally be starting ootd's because it's what I started this blog for in the first place. Summer Heat and Red Lipstick

Hi lovelies,

So it's been pretty hot here in dear old Evanston, and my friends and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. Luckily for us, our school has, not one, but two (!!) beaches! It's been beautiful here, and warm--but also hot, stifling, and humid. Oh well, guess the Midwest gods can't be good all the time. 

With the warm weather has come a weird need to put red or red/orange lipstick on every day. If you can tell, I'm sporting a nice coat of coral-y lipstick with my lime green Audrey dress and my glittery jellies. I call this dress my Audrey dress bc the neckline reminds me of Audrey circa Roman Holiday. 

Oh, and isn't Lake Michigan gorgeous behind me? Yes, it is. 

Burning Bridges and Paris

School has been KILLING ME lately. And here's a funny story that happened: I write for my university's fashion magazine, and I have been slacking off MAJOR SLACK since December. I haven't been going to meetings, I haven't been doing my shit, and I haven't been present at all basically. So, I sign up for the Asian American Journalists Association online, and I find out that there is an AAJA chapter at Northwestern! Excited to learn more about it, I email the head faculty member of the chapter. She emails me back and tells me that my EDITOR FOR THE FASHION MAGAZINE IS THE HEAD STUDENT OF AAJA. Now, I'm not sure where to go from here. Ladies, a friend once told me not to burn bridges. Oh, how I regret slacking off. I'm sure I'm making a bigger deal out of it since I have major social anxiety but still...

Any who. Did anyone track PFW and see the awesome that was Chanel and Miu Miu? I don't even know but this shoe, was literally everything. I don't even know what it is and what Ms. Prada was even going for but it's beautiful and I'm not sure if I would wear it but how innovative is that?

Valentino was fantastic, as per usual. Here's what I liked:

Lovelies,

We're reading this book in english and it's such a bore to read. Apparently it's based off of Northwestern University and Evanston (which is called Churchton in the novel...original) and most of the time, instead of actually comprehending what's going on in the novel I end up trying to find the places that the novel is trying to describe.

They mention Lake Michigan a lot so, it's really not that hard.

Funny story, no one (except for one person who had already read the novel before in some other class, so he doesn't count) in my class actually finished the novel so my prof. got really mad angry at us and dismissed us like 10 minutes early.

We also spent like 20 minutes of class casting the film adaptation to the 'movie'. My cast consisted of Meryl Streep, Kiera Knightly, and Rob Pattenson.

Anyways, he said we're going to have a quiz (?? potentially???) over the novel tomorrow so I guess I'm off to actually read the thing. Ta!

Effnic and College

Hi loveliess!

Hanging in my best friend's bed with her scarf tied around my head trying to fend off the cold, ucky, flu germs that I think I'm starting to contract.

We're being sick together. Well, she has the cramps and I have the sniffles and I used up two of her kleenex boxes. My eyebrows are sparse.

We're browsing the GAP and yes, that red tweed skirt. Speaking of the GAP, I'm waiting to hear back from them for my job application.

Anyways, back to sneezing and blowing my nose.
